Remote Astronomy

For example in the Australian Southern Skies (Moorook-Observatory)

Computercontrolled imaging done by Internetbrowser from the cold North in the Southern Hemisphere :-)

Checking the weatherconditions .......

...........looking at Stellarium on my lokal PC for interesting constellations at the observingsite ..........

........ sleewing to NGC5139 ......

....... and taking a picture,

sent by e-mail or downloaded via FTP.

Great view of the big southern starcluster Omega Centauri (NGC5139) - I did this image sitting relaxed at my desktop, without the need of flying to the South, without freezing in cold nights outdoor and spending my nighttime, comfortable and easy in daytime in the Northern Hemisphere !

These are the modern times of astronomy :-) in IYA 2009
